Talent Acquisition Specialist

An exciting new opportunity primed for someone to come in and make it their own. Experience and passion for talent management will be essential.

  • Strategically critical role leading the development of a compelling employment brand
  • Deliver the talent attraction strategy in partnership with managers across the group
  • Dynamic trans-tasman organisation on a strong growth trajectory needing a healthy talent pipeline to deliver on objectives

This exciting new opportunity is primed for someone to come in, shape it and make it their own.  Your experience, creativity and passion for talent management will be a pivotal part of Landpower’s growing success!

Landpower, along with the CLAAS Harvest Centre network, is the largest privately-owned farm machinery network in Australasia. They are the leading providers of agricultural machinery throughout Australia and New Zealand and enjoy brand partnerships spanning more than 45 years with premium, high quality European manufacturers including CLAAS, AMAZONE, JCB via a network of dealers throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Landpower and CLAAS Harvest Centre employ over 450 people across a range of sales, technical support, parts and administrative roles in their Christchurch and Melbourne offices and in the Australasian retail networks. The retail networks span from Whangarei in the North to Gore in the South of New Zealand and from Dalby in the East to Katanning in the West of Australia….and they’re growing…

Landpower understand the power of relationships – suppliers, customers, local rural communities and within their teams. The core values that shape their culture and the way they do business are:

  • In it Together -They collaborate, trust and support each other to deliver better outcomes for farmers and their business.
  • Front Up -Integrity is everything to them. They build trust and loyalty with those around them by doing what they say they will do - every time.
  • Keep Growing - They look ahead. They continue to learn, improve and innovate to deliver future success.

You will be working in an environment that invests in its people, supports innovation and encourages growth. You will deal with “Salt of the Earth” genuine people every day. Landpower strive to ensure that they deliver to the organisations purpose – “Gearing Up Farmers to Succeed” – as they believe that “when they succeed, we succeed”.

A key enabler of the Landpower Groups growth strategy, this role has primary responsibility for leading and managing the ongoing development of a strong talent attraction approach. The role will partner with the business on both sides of the Tasman to provide a compelling talent acquisition proposition both at group level and region by region.
This will then be realised into a programme that will identify, attract and deliver candidates for Landpower and the CLAAS Harvest Centres through the use of sourcing channels, talent pipelines (internal and external), technology, proactive development of a targeted employment brand and strong stakeholder management.
A key component of this role will be to ensure there is a healthy pipeline of talent across Australasia – community by community.

Sitting in the People and Culture team you will report to a dynamic and supportive General Manager – People and Culture and will work closely with other members of the senior leadership team. We are looking for someone with a unique mix of operational recruitment and creative and forward-thinking EVP experience.
This is a newly created role and, whilst you have more than a ‘greenfield’ to work with, there is certainly scope and autonomy to make it your own and shape where and how you want to develop the talent attraction strategy.

Quite simply - you’ll be considered a leader and innovator in your field!

You can manage a ‘recruitment process’ blindfolded and you’ve already mastered in-house recruitment. Hiring Managers and candidates alike talk about how you deliver outstanding service and results.  It’s your creative approach to sourcing high calibre candidates for hard to fill roles and being the steward of your organisations’ employment brand that sets you apart from transactional recruiters!

You work collaboratively and co-design solutions with managers, with employees and with your people and culture peers. You even collaborate with stakeholders outside your organisations walls, positively making a difference to the sector you work in. You’re continually curious about learning other ways to attract high calibre talent.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a People and Culture Team dedicated to lifting the employee experience of a workforce of capable, committed and customer focused people. Someone with an affinity with the agricultural sector and who shares the down to earth, genuine qualities of Landpower’s team will thrive there.

You are confident in sourcing hard to fill roles and will ideally have done this across Australia and New Zealand. You will have proven experience utilising various marketing and search channels and leading talent acquisition strategies. You also have the knowledge and experience to drive and uphold a strong employee value proposition whilst, at the same time, rolling up your sleeves and managing the day-to-day vacancy lists.

  • Rapidly growing 100% locally owned family business
  • Small (but perfectly formed) People and Culture team who have established strong credibility across the organisation
  • Highly people-focussed culture with a supportive, fun and friendly team environment
  • A competitive remuneration package
  • An Employee Benefits Programme which offers great discounts and an active social club

We want to hear from you if you are excited to make your mark in a sector that supports the success of farmers. You’ll have the autonomy to make a difference: we need high calibre people so we can continue to grow – come and help us make that happen!

If you are up for the challenge and you are willing to front up and go the extra mile please apply below with you cover letter and CV.
